- Always show respect and address Master Lee as ‘Sifu’ (see-foo).
- Bow when entering and leaving the class.
- Always show respect to guests and classmates, regardless of their rank.
- No foul or inappropriate language is permitted in the school or in public when representing our school.
- Practice should be pursued earnestly, without excessive talking or disturbing others.
- Unless Sifu designates you as an assistant instructor, teaching to other classmates, or to people outside our school, is not allowed.
- Sparring is not allowed without direct supervision of school instructors.
- Arguing is not allowed. If a conflict arises, see Sifu or an assistant instructor after class.
- Show respect to school property. Do not remove training equipment or weapons from school without permission.
- You may use most of the equipment and weapons in the school at your leisure, but do not interfere with other classmates or class activities. Please ask before handling other student’s personal equipment/weapons.
- Always maintain a clean and orderly school. Students should volunteer to dust, sweep, and clean the school whenever it seems appropriate.
- The class uniform is black pants and a shirt purchased from Sifu. A uniform is recommended, but not required. It is strongly recommended that you also purchase a class belt, and that long pants are worn year round.
- Do not wear a hat, watch, or loose jewelry in class.
- Do not chew gum in class.
- All injuries or medical conditions that may affect your training should be reported to the instructors before class begins.
- Any injuries that occur in class must be immediately reported to an instructor.
- You will sign your class card each month as you pay. Tuition is due at the beginning of the month. Please be on time.
- Sick days, holidays and snow days do not alter the tuition. If you miss your regularly scheduled class during the month and wish to make it up, you must request it from Sifu, and work out a mutually agreeable date. There is no obligation on the part of Sifu regarding make-ups.
- Please come to class on time. If you are late, please join the class quickly and with as little disruption as possible.
- Sifu will teach what students need to learn and knows what students are capable of doing. You should not ask Sifu to add new moves or to teach new forms. It is disrespectful to ask for additional movements or new forms when you may not yet have perfected what you are currently working on. If Sifu shows you nothing new, please take the opportunity to review, practice, and perfect the movements you have learned.
- If Sifu or an instructor begins to work with someone next to you, and it appears they need room, please move so Sifu has the necessary room to give instruction to your fellow students.
- When Sifu is speaking you should be listening. Continuing with other conversations means you are not paying attention to the lesson.
